DEBIT MASTERCARD

Your credit union has a new card design for our Debit MasterCard.  Member Nancy Pawlowski was the winner of our Debit Card Photo Contest last spring.  New debit cards issued starting in late August 2009 will feature her photo.

Your Debit MasterCard card can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted.  Funds for your purchase are then deducted from your checking.  Plus, you can use the card at thousands of ATMs worldwide for cash withdrawals.  Your card is accepted at merchants or machines displaying the following symbols:

Avoid surcharges and foreign ATM fees by using CU ANYTIME machines in New Mexico and Co-op machines nationwide.  You can make withdrawals, deposits (at select machines), transfers and balance inquiries at these machines.  Find a CU ANYTIME machine in New Mexico or find a Co-op ATM near you or when you are traveling.  You can also use machines displaying the Cirrus or MasterCard logo for withdrawals, transfers and balance inquiries.

Using your card to make a purchase at a merchant?  You may be asked to choose either "Credit" or "Debit."  If you choose "Credit," you'll sign for your purchase, with the amount then deducted from your account, usually within 1-3 days.  If you choose 'Debit,' you'll enter your 4-digit PIN to complete the transaction, and the amount will deduct from your account immediately.

Changing Your PIN

Don't like the PIN (personal identification number) assigned to you?  Here are two easy ways to change your PIN:

• Go to any CU ANYTIME machine.  Enter the assigned PIN, then push the "Other" button until you see the PIN Change option.  You can then input your desired PIN (you'll be asked to re-enter it to verify).  Your PIN will be immediately changed.
• Stop by your local First Financial branch with your card.  Our PIN change machine lets you change your PIN (it does take one business day for the change to go into effect).  Be sure to bring your card with you because you will need to swipe the card through the PIN change machine.
